I am 47 yrs old and have been living here in Angeles City in the Philippines for 5 yrs. Before that, in Makati for 2 yrs and before that, Thailand for 6 yrs. I have read all the good and bad stories people have had, but myself, not one problem. I'm guessing those people would have bad experiences wherever they went because wherever you go you take yourself with you, as they say.

Nothing but good things here: new condo with built-in pool and 24-hr armed security for $450 a month. Beer,cigs and food are even cheaper. I send my girfriend to a market that's open every Friday and give her about $20 or 1000 pesos. She comes back with tons of clothes, sunglasses; everything about 3 huge bags full.

Great friends here too from all over the world. But like I said, you will meet a few morons who get drunk and cause problems, but you find them in every country.

Great beaches here too. Subic Bay only a 1-hr drive from here. It's not the cleanest blue water like most beaches here, but ok for a get-away weekend.

Working not recommended; most guys I know who are managers of bars do not make much but drink anytime in owners' bars for free so that saves them money, I guess, if they drink. Well, got to go. Write more later.
